Heather Cox has been eliminated from the hit show American Idol
Heather Cox is an American singer and semifinalist on the 5th season of American Idol. She is from Jonesville, NC, and auditioned in Denver, CO. For this audition, she sang "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban.
For the first round, she sang "When You Tell Me That You Love Me". This received disappointing feedback from the judges, particularly Simon Cowell, who thought it was "forgettable".
For the second round, she sang "Hero" by Mariah Carey. She was eliminated after this performance, as she received the second-fewest votes.
Heather Cox is from a highly musical family. Her father, John Cox, is currently the pastor of Trinity Christian Center in Elkin, NC. He was once a member of the renowned gospel group, The Blackwood Brothers. Her mother, Deborah Cox, is a gifted pianist.
In 2002, Heather Cox graduated from Starmount High School, located in Boonville, NC. She has recently graduated from Surry Community College in Dobson, NC with a degree in accounting.
