I have read today on several different news stories that Ashlee Simpson was terrable at it, but I cannot comment as I personally have not seen it.

I was there on opening night for her first show (the one jessica showed up at) and Ashlee was really good! I was impressed! She pulled the role off well and I think she should stick with theatre!
