Hayden Panettiere In Taiji Saving The Dolphin
Hayden Panettiere In Taiji Saving The Dolphin.
Hayden Panettiere was in Taiji, Japan, protesting commercial fishing that kills hundreds of dolphins each year. Hayden Panettiere was there on behalf of Save The Whales Again!
Hayden Panettiere said...
We had a moment of silence for all the dolphins that had been killed here.
Hayden Panettiere has expressed that she felt the spirit of the dolphins who had been driven into the killing cove over the last 400 years.
Hayden Panettiere continued to say..
It was highly emotional. I wished for peace and for no more pain at this beautiful yet tragic cove.
<
br />Taiji fishermen, defend the kills as part of their traditional fishing culture, had planned to stop the ceremony through force and police arrest. Killing because of culture is ridicules and a pathetic reason to kill these beautiful creatures.
There was meant to be a locally led resistance but it was averted by a dramatic last-minute turnaround after professional surfer and dolphin defender Dave Rastovich was able to broker a meeting with area locals less than 12 hours before the paddle-out crew arrived unannounced at the killing cove.

Taiji local fishermen wanted to have Hayden Panettiere and her friends arrested. For what? wanting to show support to the helpless dolphins?
Participants included celebrities Hayden Panettiere and Australian actress Isabel Lucas, professional surfers Karlie Mackie, James Pribram, Karina Petroni and Jaymes Triglone together with model Hannah Fraser Rastovich who swam out in her trademark mermaid tail.

Great! Thank you Hayden Panettiere! Someone needs to tell the world what is happening here. I live in Japan and most Japanese people I know know nothing about these killings. The killings are made even more senseless when you realize that this meat is toxic with mercury compounds. Nobody wants to eat it so it is force-fed to children in school lunches. When I tell Japanese people, they just don't believe me. I can only say it is bizarre. If the local government is worried about protecting fishing jobs they could promote the area for tourism and dolphin watching. It just shows a total lack of imagination on the part of local governments in Japan.
