Michelle Obama Staying In A $13,000 A Day Hotel.
While president elect Barack Obama and first lady, Michelle Obama move to Washington they are staying in the historic Hay-Adams hotel. Barack Obama and Michelle Obama requested to use Blair House, the guest wing of the White House, until his inauguration on January 20. But they were refused as it is being used to with friends of the Bushes.
Not to worry though the Hay-Adams hotel overlooks the presidential mansion. It is thought that the taxpayer and the transition committee will split the $13k a day bill. A lot of money if you ask me..
It is not normal for an incoming president and first lady to move so early, but Michelle Obama did not want ten-year-old Malia and seven-year-old Sasha to miss their first day at the city's exclusive Sidwell Friends School.
