Keira Knightley Accepts £3,000 In Damages..

Keira Knightley took the Daily Mail to court about an article suggesting that she had an eating disorder.


Keira Knightley was distressed by the article's suggestion that she was responsible for the death of a teenage girl who had been suffering from anorexia.


The article had said...

"If pictures like this one of Keira carried a health warning, my darling daughter might have lived".

The Daily Mail published it on January 11, with a photograph of the Keira Knightley wearing a bikini on holiday.


They should have paid a lot more than that.

Keira Knightley takes libel action over newspaper.


Keira Knightley has taken libel action over the Daily Mail newspaper. The newspaper had claimed that Keira Knightley had dishonestly sought to mislead the public about whether she has an eating disorder.


Solicitor Simon Smith said..

"the article carried a photograph of Ms Knightley, taken without her consent, whilst wearing a bikini and relaxing on a beach on holiday".

He then continued to say..

"The article made reference to what it perceived to be Ms Knightley's very slim appearance. Then the article reported the recent, tragic death of a teenage girl who suffered from anorexia and contained an interview with the girl's mother."

To be honest, Keira Knightly does look a little thin, whither she has anorexia or not.


The case against Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Daily Mail, is expected to go to jury trial at London's High Court either late this year or early next year if it does not settle earlier.


I bet they will pay an out of court settlement..they always do.

Heather Mills suing British newspapers.


Heather Mills McCartney is suing The Daily Mail, London’s Evening Standard, and The Sun.


Heather Mills McCartney claims they have each written false statements about her and she is tired of being followed by their photographers.


Heather Mills McCartney’s lawyers said Tuesday that Heather Mills McCartney is suing two newspapers over

"false, damaging and immensely upsetting"

stories surrounding her divorce from Paul McCartney.


The law firm Mishcon de Reya named the Daily Mail and London’s Evening Standard as the subject of legal proceedings, adding that a suit will also be filed against The Sun.


Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and the Evening Standard, said the stories about Mills McCartney in both papers...

"were obtained by proper methods and in accordance with good journalistic practice."

"Our exclusive stories were extensively followed up in detail by all other newspapers and media outlets," it said in a statement. The publisher said it would deal with the legal claim "in the normal way."

I think it is just another way Heather Mill McCartney is trying to get some money..
