Katharine McPhee wore a dress last Tuesday. The dress that was kind (or not so kind to some) enough to lose some buttons so the millions of viewers could get a little excitement.

For her first song, Katharine McPhee sang “Take A Look At Me Now.”


Randy Jackson said “I thought it was ok at the end.”


Paula Abdul said “Not my favorite performance from you.”


Simon Cowell said “Tonight in parts it was a mess, and the song ran away from you basically. So I agree with Paula and Randy, it was by far one of your best performances.”


Simon Cowell then corrected himself and said “It wasn’t one of your best performances.” Ryan Seacrest quipped “Someone went to the bar before the show.”


For her second song, Katharine McPhee sang “Black Horse And The Cherry Tree.”


Randy Jackson said “That’s more like the Katharine that I really love.”


Paula Abdul said “This was a much better performance.”


Simon Cowell said “This is a strange show. Taylor’s laying down, you’re on your knees.”

Katharine McPhee sang “I Have Nothing.” The song choice proved to be very ironic, because Katharine’s dress revealed that she has plenty. In fact, a button popped off and nearly revealed everything.


Randy Jackson said “It was way too big for you,” and amazingly said it while keeping a straight face.


Paula Abdul said “There were pitch problems.”


Simon Cowell said “By choosing that song, it is like coming out here and saying I’m as good as Whitney Houston, you’re not.”
