Eliminations on American Idol 1st April... 2009
We start out with dramatic! scenes from last night and Ryan’s voice over…”One of them could lose it ALL! THIS….is American Idol!!"
36 million votes came in last night, Ryan says, then introduces the Top 9. Also? Lady Gag Gag will be on as well as David Cook. Simon flashes us a smile as the judges are introduced. Ryan chats the judges up about song choice and such and Randy speaks, like, 2 whole sentences without saying “Dawg” or “A’ight” or any of his same old same old words and phrases. CAR-uh speaks about the boo-ing she got. Pauler says…something..and they show a close-up of Loathbert and his guyliner. Ryan asks Simon who should leave and he answers…Anoop, Matt, and Megan should be worried.
Ford video is really cute and set to “Mixed Up” (I think) and really, I can’t describe it except to say that they had the kids…all mixed up. (ha ha) Let’s just say split screens with halfsies and thirdsies of the kids all mixed up. Ya had to be there.
WHY are they making it obvious that they lip sync now? WHY are they pre-taping the performance part of it and having them lip-sync it?? And they are lip-syncing horribly! I usually like the group performances, but this is getting just plain goofy. But, the pre-recorded singing sounded really good!
After the break we get to see a typical week for the idols. It’s a lot of fun to see them at their photo shoots and in the mansion. After that we get to see Danny do an impersonation of Matt, Anoop does Kris and Allison does Danny. Funny stuff! You can tell they have lots of fun together.
DIM THE LIGHTS! (time for group choosing…I HATE this!)
Matt, Megan and Kris are sent to one side of the stage together.
Adam, Lil and Allison all stand and are sent to the center of the stage.
Scott, Danny and Anoop stand on the other side of the stage.
Ryan asks which group is safe and who. could. be. the bottom 3?? Duh, duh, duh, duh! The DRAMA!!
After the break.
Before we come back from commercials, I’ll just say that most likely, one from each group of three will be in the bottom. It’s kind of obvious. But maybe not.
After the break, David Cook is back (in a pre-taped live clip) to sing his new single, “Come Back To Me.” Not much to say. He’s good. His drummer needs to get his hair out of his eyes. Ryan chit chats with DC about what he learned from Idol. Then, a couple of random blond girls bring out a platinum record for David Cook on behalf of 19E.
David is gracious and we cut to commercials.
We’re back and we’re back to the stage with the groups of three.
Ryan starts with Kris and he is SAFE!! He makes his way to the Safety Sofa-like-thing.
Matt is next and he is SAFE!! Yaaaayyyy!!! (only after Ryan gives him a fake-out heart attack which is getting old)
Megan next and she CAWS her way over to the SSS of D. She isn’t surprised and I like that.
Lil is SAFE.
Allison gets a SSS of D.
Loathbert is SAFE. Whoop dee doo.
Danny is SAFE!!!! (And really, I can’t believe people say he is cocky. Puh-lease.)
Scott and Anoop are the last two standing at center stage. Ryan asks Randy who he thinks will round out the bottom 3. Randy says based on last night, Anoop. And he’s right.
Anoop takes his SSS of D.
Official bottom 3:
Megan
Allison
Anoop
Ryan gives fair warning that Lady Gag Gag will be performing after the break. Thanks Ry. I’ll be taking my potty break at that time.
Jasmine Murray Eliminated From American Idol
Jasmine Murray Eliminated From American Idol
Jasmin Murray has been eliminated from American Idol Season 8.
Here is a round up of what happened....
After nearly 33 million votes came in last night on American Idol there was a double elimination along with a new rule explained to the contestants and guest singers Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson performed their chart topping new singles. Who went home and who goes on to perform for another week in the top 12? Keep reading to find out.
Ryan Seacrest strolls down the stairs between two lines of Idols and speaks ominously about the double elimination and the “new rule.” THIS….is American Idol!
Ryan Seacrest introduces the idols all sitting in their seats and next introduces the judges. As IF we don’t know them already.
Ryan moves on to ’splain the “new rule.” It’s called The Judge’s Save. They can use it to save an eliminated contestant once and only once up until the Top 5. Once they use it, the save can not be used again the entire season. The week they use the save, no one will be eliminated but the next week, two will go. Simon says it’s not necessarily reversing America’s decision. Hmm…interesting. I’ll ’save’ my thoughts about the Save for future discussion.
The wacky kids are shown moving into their mansion complete with bowling alley and other amenities. And next is the group song! It’s a medley of Michael Jackson songs which frankly is pretty dang good! They’re dancing and singing at the same time and sounding good! And let me just say this…you go on with your bad self, Scott MacIntyre!! He was dancing and keeping up and I thought that was pretty awesome! Fun!
It’s recap city, BAY-BEE! We are reminded of all of our favorite performances from last night. Let me tell you, last night, Danny Gokey made me act like Pauler! I was bouncing in my chair and high-seal-clapping! I was singing along and “Wooo-ing” and basically acting a fool. THAT is what I love about this show!
Anyway, Ryan chit chats with the kids and then they show the Ford video/commercial. It’s “We Will Rock You” and it’s pretty cool.
Lights dimmage commences and Michael Sarver is first and he is SAFE! Yay!
Allison is SAFE!
Jasmine gets the dreaded you’re-in-the-bottom music! Duh nuh duh nuh duh nuh nuh!
Matt Giraud is SAFE!! woo hoo!
Kris Allen is SAFE!! Cool!
Megan is in the bottom! But! Megan is SAFE!! Woo Hoo!!
Jasmine is going home…UNLESS the judges save her. My feeling is, they won’t use it this week. (Unless Adam is in the bottom and we know THAT won’t happen!) Jasmine sings again and Ryan asks the judges if they will save her tonight. Randy says, sorry, but no. Jasmine cries, bless her heart, and Ryan is all sweet to her and gives her a pep talk. We watch her journey montage as Carrie Underwood sings her out with “Home Sweet Home.”
Potty break time! Kanye West is on. I have nothing to say except he needed to pull his pants up.
Aaaand, we’re back. Scott is up next and he is SAFE!!
Alexis next and she is SAFE!!!
Danny finds out he is SAFE!! Duh, but Yeeee Haaaa!
Anoop with his new hair do goes to the center of the stage. He’s in the bottom.
Loathbert is safe. Duh.
Jorge is in the bottom with Anoop.
Lil is SAFE!
We’ll find out after the break if Anoop or Jorge has to sing for their life.
On the other side of the break, we get Ryan telling us that every week will bring us a former Idol. Yay! Kelly Clarkson comes out to chit chat with Ryan about her new album and then performs “My Life Would Suck Without You.” I think the song is brilliant... and so is Kelly Clarkson.
Kelly's new album is out now and I would recommend that you go out and buy it...
And it’s the moment of truth (as Ryan says). After 33 million votes, Anoop is safe!! Jorge sings again. Simon tells him he is not being saved tonight. We watch Jorge’s montage and Carrie sings him home.
So the people safe this week are Michael Sarver, Allison Iraheta,Matt Giraud, Kris Allen, Megan Corkrey,Scott MacIntyre,Alexis Grace,Danny Gokey,Adam Lambert,Lil Rounds,Anoop Desai
Sent home this week were Jasmine Murray and Jorge Nunez. Listen to Jasmine Murray here

Kelly Clarkson appears in this month’s Self magazine.
Kelly Clarkson said...
"Writing is therapeutic for me. It’s at least acknowledging that there’s something seriously wrong right then that I have to get out. Otherwise, it will eventually just kill me. I’ll start to become this other person who is jaded or always questioning everything around me. I don’t want to be that person.”

Kelly Clarkson was asked about her first single, Never Again, if it was about her breakup with David Hodges said...
"You know why, I won’t confirm it? It’s like, look, dude, I’m not at this place anymore and I don’t want your name blasted everywhere, because I don’t even want to give you that credit. People make mistakes. They’re idiots. You don’t want to blame them for the rest of your life.”

Jordin Sparks Wins American Idol 2007
Jordin Sparks Wins American Idol 2007
It was not the best final I have watched, but Jordin Sparks deserved to win.
Jordin Sparks said she grew up on "American Idol," and watching the television show since she was 12 years old and telling her mother it was what she wanted to do.
Jordin Sparks told reporters backstage after winning in the season's finale...
"Now I'm actually doing it,"
Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks started the show with “I Saw Her Standing There.” The Gwen Stafani was brodcast live from her concert. It was not one of my favorite songs of Gwens, and what the hell was she wearing.

The the first American Idol Kelly Clarkson sang “Never Again.” then that was followed by the top six American Idol male finalists performed “Ooh Baby, Baby,” and then were joined on stage by Smokey Robinson to perform “Being With You” and “Tears Of A Clown.”
Blake Lewis and Doug E. Fresh performed “The Show.” which I thought was a bit crap.
Then the top six American Idol female finalists performed “I Heard It Through The Grapevine,” and then were joined on stage by Gladys Knight to perform “I Feel A Song In My Heart” and “Midnight Train To Georgia.”
Next up was Tony Bennett who performed “For Once In My Life.” then followed by Melinda Doolittle and Bebe & CeCe Winans who performed “Hold Up The Light.” Melinda Doolittle has god a massive career ahead of her.
American Idol season 4 winner Carrie Underwood performed “I’ll Stand By You.” and then a crap performance by Sanjaya Malakar and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry performed “You Really Got Me.” Joe Perry was great though.
Next in line was Green Day who performed “Working Class Hero.”
American Idol season 5 winner Taylor Hicks performed “Heaven Knows.” I think Taylor Hicks is great, he is a good singer and performer. Jordin Sparks and Ruben Studdard performed “All I Need to Get By.” Bette Midler performed “Wind Beneath My Wings.”
Then a tribute to The Beatles Sgt. Pepper was performed by American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Hicks, Carrie Underwood, and Ruben Studdard with the American Idol 6 finalists.
Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell predicted that Jordin Sparks would win, well we all did, while Paula Abdul said both were winners.
The after a world record 74 million votes that Jordin Sparks was the winner of American Idol season 6 in 2007.
Jordin Sparks said..
"Thank you so much for everything,"
"Mom, Dad, I love you. Nana, Papa, P.J., thank you guys."
Then she began "This Is My Now," the tune picked by viewers in a new online "American Idol" songwriting contest.
Well thats it until January 2008 for season 7 to start.. what will American watch now?..
